Meet Bobo & Nana

The odds and ends of Bobo the bear and Nana the hen: hikes, trips and everyday life, written down for their future selves.

Bobo

In charge of planning on hikes, and of having fun on trips.

Nana gave Bobo his nickname, and nobody quite knows why. His love of high-mountain scenery got him into Taiwan's Top 100 Peaks. On hikes, he plans the trip, carries the heavy load, films and keeps the record. When they travel, he switches off and leaves it all to Nana. Bobo always tells her, "I will follow you wherever ...", and goes along with everything. At home he is usually gaming or reading. He loves Dark Souls and Elden Ring, recently played Baldur's Gate 3, and is waiting for GTA 6. On his bookshelf: fantasy novels, biographies, and the occasional popular science book like A Brief History of Time.

Nana

In charge of planning on trips, and of having fun on hikes.

Nana is a variation of her real name, and she was born in the Year of the Rooster. When they travel, she books the meals and rooms and plans the itinerary, though she's fine with last-minute changes. She loves beautiful things and has a strong interest in design, architecture and space. She first took up hiking for exercise, and as she grew fitter she discovered the beauty of the high mountains. Now she takes photos and chats as she walks, and is happiest at the summit. She once said, "Don't ask me to watch a sunrise unless it's from one of the Top 100 Peaks." She is usually good-natured and kind to others, but she is no pushover. She always brings a small bag when she goes out; whatever doesn't fit goes in Bobo's backpack. When she sees clothes she wants, she holds back first and asks Bobo, "Have I grown up?" Then she buys them once the coast is clear. Lately she's into Fullmetal Alchemist.
